We Wear Gloves
All photos are handled with care while wearing specially made archival gloves that are designed specifically for handling photos. They are individually cleaned one at a time using air and a soft brush (where appropriate). In every step of the process, care is taken to protect each photo and ensure the best quality possible.

- Mold digests the emulsion, especially in humidity over 40%

Measure the height of a stack and then add to or subtract photos from the stack until it is close to any of the inch marks. A stack one inch high is around 100 prints, 2 inches 200 prints, and so forth. This is approximate because of the different kinds of paper that they may be printed on, but it will give you an estimate.
First of all, they need to be securely packed for shipping. See the packing instructions here. All materials that are received are kept in a fireproof safe when they are not being worked on. Special archival gloves are worn to handle all types of photos, media, and documents. The gloves are lint free, and prevent any oils and fingerprints from getting on the photos. Most competitors do not do this, and it is one of the many things that set us apart.
Pixels Per Inch (PPI). Images viewed on digital devices such as computers, cell phones, and tablets are displayed using lots of tiny squares that are called pixels. Printed images are displayed using lots of tiny dots. This is measured in DPI or Dots Per Inch.
No, and that goes for all of the items that we scan. Digitizing the photo is part of the restoration.
